You can take all of the general education requirements prior to OR during the program. The general education classes are...

  • Human Anatomy 3 hours
  • Human Physiology 4 hours
  • Medical Terminology 2 hours
  • Communication Elective 3 hours
    (English Comp. I, Business English or Public Speaking)

What days will I be in class?

  • Fall -
    • Surgical Technology lecture -
      • Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
    • General education classes as scheduled by the student
      • Human Anatomy lecture and lab, Medical Terminology, Communication Elective
    • Surg. Tech. Lab A
      • (Mon., Wed. and every other Fri. from 6:45am-12:15pm)

    • Surg. Tech. Lab B
      • (Tues., Thurs. and every other Fri. from 6:45am-12:15pm)
  • Spring -
    • Surgical Technology lecture -
      • Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm-3:15pm
    • Pharmacology for the Surgical Technologist- Online
    • General education classes as scheduled by the student
      • Human Physiology lecture and lab
    • ST Clinicals in Dodge City, Garden City and Liberal -
      • Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30am-11:30am
  • Summer - (8 weeks)
    • Surgical Technology lecture -
      • Monday and Tuesday from 1:00pm-4:00pm
    • Clinicals in Dodge City, Garden City and Liberal
      • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 6:30am- 3:00pm
    • Last four days of semester are spent at a clinical site in Wichita, Kansas
