What type of degree will I receive following completion of the respiratory therapy program?
Following successful completion of this 24 month, advanced practitioner program, you will receive an Associates in Applied Science-Respiratory Therapy.
Is the program accredited?
Yes. The Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
How often do the Respiratory Therapy classes meet?
The first year classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings. The second year classes meet Tuesday and Thursdays with mostly afternoon classes. Both first and second year students participate in hospital based clinical instruction on Fridays unless otherwise arranged by the clinical coordinator.
I am a Certified Respiratory Therapist; may I receive advanced placement to become registry eligible?
Yes. Advanced placement may be granted with completion of general education requirements.
Are financial aid and scholarships available?
Yes, financial aid is available. Please check with the financial aid office (620-417-1111) to determine your eligibility for financial aid and various college-wide scholarships.
Is there a required criminal background check?
Yes, all Respiratory Therapy applicants admitted to the program are required to have a criminal background check to participate in the clinical practicum courses.
How do I apply to the SCCC Respiratory Therapy Program?
Download the admission forms on this site and complete as directed. Applications are accepted beginning December 1 each year.
